In this daily Bible reading are the accounts of Peter healing a paralyzed man and raising a dead woman back to life. As a result of these miraculous acts, many people came to believe in Jesus.

Before Jesus was crucified, He performed many miracles to convince people that He was the Son of God, the Christ. Many came to believe in Him as a result. The miracles gave credibility to the message.

We do not need miracles today to believe. We have the Word of God, the Bible. Interestingly, the Bible must first be believed before it can be understood.

I owned a Bible for many years but never read it.  When I did read it, I could not understand what I was reading.  It  didn’t make sense to me.

When I was about 40 years old, I started to listen to very good Bible teachers. Their teaching convinced me that the  Bible was true.  After I was convinced of the Bible’s Truth, an amazing thing happened.  I could understand the Bible.  Additionally, I had a strong desire to read the Bible.

The Bible says,  “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of Christ.”  Therefore, I recommend listening to good Bible Teachers who will illuminate the Word of God and give you a desire to read the Bible.  Here are some good teachers who I have listened to over the years:  Charles Swindoll, J. Vernon McGee, and Greg Laurie.  You can easily find  them on the internet.
