This Proverb says, “He who digs a pit will fall into it, and he who rolls a stone, it will come back on him.” I believe this Proverb is speaking about a person who plans to do harm to somebody else. Sometimes their evil plan will backfire on them. They will become victims of their own scheme.

King David in his Psalms wrote of his many enemies who wanted to do David harm. David wrote about their schemes and plans. Many of their plans would fail, and they would have worse things happen to them.

God was protecting David from harm because of David’s faithfulness toward God. The Bible says that David was ‘a man after God’s own heart.’ God highly favored David and blessed David greatly. God also protected David.

I believe this Proverb is most applicable when evil people are plotting against God’s people. They may succeed in their evil plots against another evil person. However they will have a difficult time trying to harm one of God’s people.

This is just one of the benefits of being a believer. God blesses believers with many good things. God is also a shield to those who believe, protecting them from evil and harm. God sustains and protects His own and guides them along the path that leads to Heaven. God clears the way for believers so that they may succeed in their journey through life.
