This Psalm compares the idols of godless nations and people to the living God. Nations that don’t believe in God worship idols in various forms. Some idols are literally statues of something. The Psalmist points out that those idols may have eyes, ears, mouths and feet. However, they cannot see, hear, speak or walk. They are lifeless. Those who believe in them will be like them. They will be spiritually lifeless.
On the other hand, God is living. He can see, hear, speak and move about. He truly can and will help those who believe in Him. He will guide and bless people’s lives.
Those who believe in the living God will be spiritually alive. They will have a living God to guide them and bless them. Their lives will be rich and full. More importantly, they will be allowed to live eternally with God in Heaven.
