In this daily Bible reading Paul differentiates between the Law and Faith. He points out that the Jews, who are zealous for the Law, try to gain righteousness through the Law.
The Bible says that this is not possible. One must have Faith to be deemed righteous by God. The Bible says, “Without Faith it is impossible to please God. The Bible also says, “The righteous man shall live by Faith.” That is Faith in the living Word of God, Jesus Christ.
Paul did not reject the Law, but he points out that Faith produces the proper motivation to obey the Law. The heart of a person is all important to his or her Salvation. The Bible says, “If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with a mouth he confesses resulting in Salvation.”
Therefore we must live by Faith in the living Word of God, Jesus Christ. Then, our right actions will follow. We will have the courage to openly believe in Jesus and welcome Jesus to be Lord of our lives.
