In this daily Bible reading the Apostle, Peter, writes about unprincipled men mocking true believers in the last days before the return of Jesus. Unbelievers exist in the world. They also exist in Christian churches. Some do not believe that Jesus Christ is returning to the Earth. They distort the Bible to support their own viewpoints. However, Jesus is returning. We are called to be steadfast in our belief. Additionally, we are to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.”
We are not to be carried away by unprincipled individuals who distort the Bible. We must therefore anchor ourselves in God’s Word, the Bible. Then, when we hear distortions, we will know they are distortions.
Single or isolated passages in Scripture are used by cults to distort the Bible’s message. The entire Bible must be understood to realize what is Truth. The Bible says that Satan tried to tempt Jesus with passages from the Bible. But Jesus responded to Satan with other Bible passages that revealed Satan’s distortion of God’s Word.
The Bible must be our “daily bread.” So that we will indeed grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus and be prepared for His return.
