INSIGHT
In this daily Bible reading the Apostle, Peter, writes about false prophets and false teachers joining churches. They distort the Bible to support their own viewpoints.
We are not to be carried away by teachers who distort the Bible. We must therefore anchor ourselves in God’s Word, the Bible. Then, when we hear distortions, we will know they are distortions.
Single or isolated passages in Scripture are used by cults to distort the Bible’s message. The entire Bible must be understood to realize what is Truth. The Bible says that Satan tried to tempt Jesus with passages from the Bible. But Jesus responded to Satan with other Bible passages that revealed Satan’s distortion of God’s Word.
The Bible must be our “daily bread,” so that we will indeed grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus and be prepared for His return.
