In these passages is the account of Elijah being taken up to Heaven without dying. The Bible tells of one other person being taken to Heaven without dying. That person is Enoch, who was born before the great flood.
The Bible says that ‘it is appointed for man once to die before the judgment.’ The Bible also says that in the end times two witnesses will stand against evil in Jerusalem and defy the ‘Antichrist.’ They will proclaim God’s Truths for a time; but will eventually be killed by the Antichrist. I believe these two ‘witnesses’ are Enoch and Elijah who God created for this event.
I believe that God has a purpose for each and every one of us. Some purposes are large. Some are small. However, our lives have meaning and purpose. Otherwise we wouldn’t have been created. That is certainly worth considering as we proceed through life.
