In this daily Bible reading Paul says to the Corinthian church, “We are a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing; to one an aroma from death to death, to the other an aroma of life to life.” I believe that Paul is saying that when one speaks to others the words of Jesus, it causes a response from those who hear.

Those who are being saved will embrace the words of Jesus, and they will want to hear more. To them, words of Jesus are like a beautiful fragrance from a flower. However, those who are perishing and headed to Hell reject the words of Jesus. To them the words of Jesus are like a nauseating fragrance, a putrid smell from which they want to flee.

Indeed, Jesus separates believers from non-believers. I believe a pivotal question that will reveal a person’s true belief is,  “Who do you say Jesus is?”

Some believe Jesus is a good man. Others believe He is a Prophet. Still others believe He is the spirit brother of Satan. Many others believe He is a fictional character.

Not many truly believe that Jesus is the only begotten son of God. Only a few believe that Jesus is the living Word of God. Only a few believe that He died for us and was raised from the dead.

The Bible says that ‘Jesus is The Way, The Truth and The Life.  No one comes to the Father but through Him.’  Jesus is the only way to Salvation. If we do not believe this, the Bible says we will be condemned to spend eternity in Hell.
