INSIGHT
In this daily Bible reading the Apostle John says the following regarding knowing Jesus: “We know that we have come to know Him if we keep His Commandments. The one who says, ‘I have come to know Him,’ And does not keep His commandments is a liar and the Truth is not in him.” Evidence of our true Faith in Jesus Christ is doing what the Bible commands of us.
The Bible defines Eternal Life as ‘knowing God and knowing Jesus Christ.’ If we do not know Jesus Christ, we do not have Eternal Life. The Bible also says that loving God is evidenced by doing what God tells us to do. If you do not obey God, then you do not love Him.
The Bible says that we are saved from damnation by God’s Grace through our Faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus is the only way to Salvation, and we must believe this Truth if we want to go to Heaven. Adhering to the world’s religions will not get us into Heaven. Only our true Faith in Jesus Christ will. Furthermore, our Faith must be active. It must be evidenced by the lives we lead.
Faith is not evidenced by mere intellectual belief. Satan and his demons know who Jesus is, but their knowledge will not get them into Heaven. We must therefore follow Jesus in our daily walk through life and always seek to do what Jesus wants us to do. Then, He will help us and guide us into Heaven.
