In this daily Bible reading the Apostle John tells the people that false believers will come into the Church. They will have the appearance of believers, but they are not. They will try to influence and deceive the true believers. However, God will protect true believers from deception. John says that God will give true believers an ‘anointing.’
The Bible says that this ‘anointing’ is God’s Holy Spirit, who will be with true believers and teach them. John said, “The anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you… His anointing teaches you about all things.” The Bible says that God will teach true believers.
I discovered that I could not understand the Bible until I believed that the Bible is the Word of God and is the Truth. Once I had this belief within me, I could then understand the Bible. God’s Truths literally leaped off the pages for me. I developed a great hunger for the Word of God. I believe that God continues to teach me from His Word and gives me understanding.
The Bible also nourishes me spiritually. It is real spiritual food for my soul. The Bible has therefore become my ‘daily bread.’ So, if you want to understand the Bible you must first believe it to be true. Then as you read, God will give you understanding and joy.
