In this daily Bible reading is the account of King David organizing the descendants of Aaron to serve God in the sanctuary. Of particular note is the assignment of singing to Asaph and his relatives.
Asaph also prophesied and wrote several Psalms, which are in the Bible. Asaph was one of King David’s close spiritual advisors.
David’s administration reflected David’s dedication to God. I believe this is the primary reason God remained faithful in establishing David’s kingdom.
David’s lineage includes Jesus, who is the most important person in that lineage. One day Jesus will rule here on Earth, and I believe worshiping God will be most important in Jesus’ government. The Temple will be restored and provide a place of worship for Jesus’ followers. I’m sure that there will be singing and joy in that Temple.
